Community Action Wirral – What’s in a name?

0

Since 2008 Voluntary & Community Action Wirral has gone from strength-to-strength. We have administered over £1.25 million in grant funding, provided support to over 1000 local third sector organisations and successfully matched a large number of volunteers with many of these organisations. To build on our success and to reflect our future plans, last year we announced that we had chosen a new name for our organisation.

Community Action Wirral

We chose the name Community Action Wirral because we wanted a name that reflected more effectively the work that we do.

We have developed new ways of working in response to the needs of our local community and the organisations that we support. We forge links between organisations that offer funding, and those who need it; organisations looking for people with time to give and those wanting to give it; and public sector organisations that need support in their work to engage with communities.

We have a highly-skilled staff team with a diverse range of knowledge and experience, we are able to work with our partners to connect people in ways that create lasting, positive and sustainable change with, and for, our local communities. We were also delighted to be awarded the Investors in People Silver standard last year.

We spent time thinking about our Vision, Mission and our core values and are exploring ways to expand on the work we are commended for and we hope that you will share our work with your colleagues and join us in our campaign for action on Wirral.
