Celebrate National Carers Week With Wired

0

Wired are gearing up to celebrate National Carers Week next month, from 8th to 15th June.

The theme for this year’s National Carers Week is ‘building carer friendly communities’ and is an opportunity for this country’s 7.2 million Carers to be recognised, valued and supported.

There are 40,000 Carers in Wirral but not everyone realises that they are a Carer or the help they can get as a Carer.

Put simply, a Carer is someone of any age who provides unpaid, necessary care on a regular basis for a relative, partner or friend who could not manage without this help. This care could be for someone who is ill, frail, has an addiction or a disability.

Amongst the services available to Carers are Wired’s Carers Support Services. These include:

  • Carers Helpline: Call 0151 670 0777, Mon-Fri, 9am-3.30pm, for information, advice and support.
  • Carers Register: for regular local and national information.
  • Carers Grant: funding to access health and well being activities.
  • Carers Emergency Contact Service: peace of mind for Carers in the event of an emergency.
  • Counselling Service: open to all adult Carers and former Carers who would like to speak confidentially about their situation.
  • Carers Employment Support: offering advice, information and support with employment/training opportunities.
  • Planning and Development Assistance: help to plan and develop local strategies/services that ensure Carers are included and recognised.

For any information about the above, please call the Wired Carers Helpline on 0151 670 0777 or email
