This summer, North West Air Ambulance Charity is launching its first Wirral based retail store and we’re recruiting volunteers to make it a success. The store will be located in Heswall and we would be grateful if you could distribute the poster attached, spread the word amongst your contacts or get in touch if you’re interested in volunteering.
North West Air Ambulance Charity’s helicopters fly 365 days a year, with doctors and paramedics on board providing rapid treatment to patients across the entire North West. Just as many critically injured patients would not survive without the service the charity provides, North West Air Ambulance Charity would not be here without the support of local communities who donate, fundraise, request a presentation, display a collection tin or simply spread the word about the work we do across the Wirral.
So far this year..
Since January 2019, we have undertaken 43 missions across the Wirral peninsula. This has included landing on a playing field at Upton Hall FCJ school. Having helped assess the nearby patient, our crew took time to engage with students on their return to the helicopter.
“The staff of the North West Air Ambulance Charity were absolutely fantastic this morning. After doing their day job and tending to patients, they stayed around and showed the helicopter and how they work” – Upton Hall FCJ via Twitter, June 2019
It is no exaggeration when we say the contributions volunteers make at the charity’s retail stores could help to save a life! In 2018, our volunteers donated approximately 24,000 hours of their time enabling us to be able to attend, on average, 2,000 missions per year.
However, as a charity that receives no government funding towards the £9.5 million needed per year to stay operational, our work is only possible thanks to the people of the North West!
