12 Days of Christmas Campaign 2020

The foundations of Community Action Wirral are built on supporting the community/charity organisations that support others. That’s why we are very excited to announce our 12 Days of Christmas interactive advent inspired campaign.

Christmas is the time of giving, so we would love you all to join us for the first 12 days of the Christmas period and give to those who are struggling, now more than ever, to provide for themselves and their own families this Christmas. The idea behind this campaign is advent calendar inspired and the aim is for everyone to eventually donate the specified 12 items over the 12 days, that will be going to Wirral Foodbank and Koala Charity.

Starting from the 1st December, every morning a social media post will be released, just like you would open an advent window every morning. The post will reveal the ‘item of the day’ that we would like to be donated. The list of items has been inspired by the item’s foodbanks tend to lack donations of and are most in need of. For example, people often forget that food banks also accept non-food items such as toiletries and hygiene products, helping people in crisis maintain dignity and feel human again.

It would be great to see lots of community organisations and families at home getting involved with this. The Lauries Centre in Birkenhead will has a ‘Donation Drop-Off Zone’ at their main reception where you are welcome to drop off items along the way, or you can drop off the full 12 item parcel to us by Monday 14th December. We welcome you to send in pictures of you getting involved at home and pictures of your completed parcels!

It would be amazing to see everyone pull together and make this campaign a success after such a troubling year. We are all capable of making the end of 2020 a positive one and provide families across Wirral with items that they aren’t in a fortunate enough position to provide for their own families.

By the end of the 12 days, we are hoping to have an abundance of food and items donated that we can take to Wirral Food Bank and Koala Charity as a Christmas gift from communities all across Wirral.

CHRISTMAS WARNING: To spread a bit of Christmas cheer, keep a look out for our interactive Christmas quiz questions and polls along the way!
