Uniformed Youth Group Support Officer

Responsible To: Operations Director

Starting Salary: £22,425 to £25,679

Hours: 37.5 per week

Location: Cheshire East and Cheshire West

Contract Type: Permanent (subject to continued funding)

Youth Federation is looking for an inspirational individual who is capable of inspiring the next generation of uniformed youth cadets and, in doing so, support young people to be the best they can.

With a passion for supporting systemic change, you will create and deliver a broad range of events and activities aimed at coordinating volunteer and young person recruitment across the uniformed youth services.

Through your efforts, the uniformed youth sector will not only be supported to emerge from lockdown, but also be in a position to provide the opportunities for young people to learn the skills and meet the friends that will last them a lifetime. As a persistent, flexible and determined individual, you will be key to forming inter-group relationships that ensure that the uniformed youth sector is larger than the sum of its parts.

This is an ideal role for an individual with a military or uniformed youth group background and in return for your hard work you will be rewarded by being part of an organisation working to make significant change in the lives of young people across the North West of England.

Job Context

The after-effects of Covid 19 will continue at the national, regional and county level. Young people’s lives have already been affected by the lock-down of schools, colleges and universities. Those with leadership potential will be highly sought after.

This is a challenge that Cheshire Youth United has been addressing for several years. Fulfilment of this need is urgent and represents an exciting prospect for the immediate future.

Job Purpose

The objectives of Uniformed Youth Organisations include enabling young people to achieve their full potential. To this end, the main purpose of this role is to work with Uniformed Youth Organisations across Cheshire, helping them to develop and expand their capacity to meet the urgent and emerging needs.
