The Wirral Festival Of Firsts is set to get underway tomorrow, 27th June, at West Kirby Library with Word Magic!
The festival was first established in Hoylake in 2011 with the aim of delivering an innovative, community based, arts festival but, in four short years, it has grown to include activities and events in West Kirby, Meols, New Brighton, Woodchurch and Birkenhead!
The Festival is run entirely by volunteers, showcasing local talent and encouraging everyone to take part. It also provides opportunities for the community to access and enjoy some examples of the best art, music and poetry in the country!
This year there are 27 events in total, providing something for everyone at affordable prices… some for FREE!
Among the plethora of talent on offer, festival goers can look forward to a ‘Young Talent Open Mic Night’, a pop-up theatre adaptation of Alice In Wonderland, Mercury Music Prize nominees Polar Bear, poet Roger McGough, ‘Art On The Promenade’, the Festival Photographic Exhibition, and the ever popular Festival Parade Day!
