United Way UK is very happy to announce the launch of two new grants, Community Impact and Give Local.
United Way envisions a world where all individuals and families achieve their potential thanks to a good start in life, an inspiring education, a path to income mobility and a healthy lifestyle. To do this, the organisation takes a collaborative approach with other charitable organisations, businesses and individuals interested in making a positive contribution and supporting those in need.
What are the grants for?
United Way UK is offering two different types of grant:
- Community Impact: These grants aim to address the pressing educational needs of disadvantaged children and young people, specifically in the areas of early childhood development, literacy and numeracy skills or employability. There will be 3 Community Impact Grants of £10,000 each.
- Give Local: These grants are inclusive and aim to support community based, local organisations. United Way UK has not been too prescriptive as to the work the grant must contribute towards, but communities and organisations are asked to inform United Way UK as to their needs as they relate to the priority issue areas (education, income and health); United Way UK is particularly interested in those addressing the needs of disadvantaged people. There will be 28 Give Local Grants of £1,000 each.
More detailed information can be found within the application forms. Deadline for both grants is Monday 25 April 2016.
