On the next three first Saturdays of the month there is a unique opportunity to visit both Bidston Windmill and Bidston Lighthouse on the same day.
Bidston’s Windmill and Lighthouse are situated a short walk from each other and are both hugely important historic buildings on the Wirral. The windmill on Bidston Hill is mentioned in an early manuscript dated 1609 and there has been a lighthouse situated on Bidston Hill since around 1771.
The next open day for the Windmill is Saturday 4th July, 10am – 12pm.
Admission is free but donations to the Friends of Bidston Hill are most welcome. Height restrictions apply and last entry is at 11:45 am.
The next open day for the Lighthouse is Saturday 4th July, 12pm – 4pm.
Guided tours to the lamp room and signals room start at 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:30pm.
Whilst you’re visiting, why not make a day of it with a walk around Bidston Hill and a visit to Tam O’Shanter Urban Farm? The farm also has a café to sit down in and sample some of it’s culinary delights.
