Wirral Met’s students and apprentices have excelled once again in providing a three course gala dinner, alongside a hair and make-up show, in aid of North West Cancer Research.
The event took place at Heswall Hall and the theme was inspired by ‘The Three Queens’ visit last month to mark the 175th anniversary of Cunard.
A night of fabulous food and entertainment was delivered, showcasing the talents of Wirral Met’s students and apprentices.
The hairdressing, beauty and make-up students were also judged for their skills by professionals from Toni and Guy, Tigi, and Mac Cosmetics, among others, which culminated in an enthusiastically received catwalk show.
Not to be outdone, the catering students also excelled in serving up canapés and a themed three course gala dinner to over 100 guests. From roasted tomato and butternut squash soup to breast of chicken with brie and asparagus and Sachertorte for dessert, the catering students were able to display their outstanding creativity and skills.
Reflecting on the night, Sue Higginson, Principal of Wirral Met College, said, “Celebrating 175 years of Cunard was the theme of this fantastic show. Students of every level excelled and, if ever there was a display to showcase the talent of Wirral Met College, this evening achieved it.”
