NEW UPDATE!!!! Wirral Council has extended the deadline for the Market Rights Policy consultation up until the 22nd December 2021.

The policy would enforce licensing for all events with 5 or more stalls selling goods (within 6 2/3 miles of Birkenhead Market). Many local third sector organisations, churches, established markets, community groups, organise craft markets, food fairs, car boot sales, summer fayres, Christmas lights, etc, etc and rely on the funds raised from these events to continue their work with various aspects of supporting people and businesses in the local community.
This is an alert to these groups, as organisations that might be affected by the introduction of this new policy, and we would ask that WBC extends the consultation period to allow reasonable time for them to respond if they have been unaware of this.
