Research from the National Personal Budgets Surveys shows that there is a clear link between people’s experience of the personal budget process and the difference that it can make to their lives: the simpler the process, the better their experience. This week Think Local Act Personal produced the Personal Budgets Minimum Process Framework; a co-produced online tool designed to support councils (both staff working in ‘corporate/back office’ and ‘frontline’ social care work) cut bureaucracy around social care ‘processes’ related to delivering personal budgets. The tool lists what councils must do to meet their Care Act responsibilities, whilst also addressing many common problems reported by people who use services, carers and families. Comments and case study submissions are now invited to help develop the tool in time for when the Care Act 2014 comes into force in April 2015. www.thinklocalactpersonal.org.uk/Personal-Budgets-Minimum-Process-Framework
