A programme of FREE summer music events will be delivered every Friday in Hamilton Square as part of a campaign to breathe new life into the area.
The ‘Summer Sessions’ will be a series of laid back acoustic performances presented by Birkenhead BID and featuring some of the regions most talented artists.
The events will be open to all with FREE picnic blankets and deckchairs provided and take place every Friday in July, between noon and 2pm.
Paula Basnett, CEO of Wirral Chamber of Commerce, said: “Businesses have made it clear they felt Hamilton Square was underused and more should be done to bring it back to life, especially during the summer months. In answer to this, in July we are funding a series of Summer Session concerts featuring some of Wirral’s most talented musicians. These will bring atmosphere back to the square, and as an added confidence measure we are also funding a lunchtime police patrol throughout July. The message from Birkenhead BID is visit Hamilton Square, see the Summer Sessions, go out and enjoy one of our finest landmarks.”
