Residents of Hoose Court, Hoylake, are celebrating the refurbishment of the communal areas of their homes.

The work was paid for by landlord Magenta Living and carried out by contractors A Connolly Ltd, delivering an accessible and improved environment for the residents.

The process was started by an intensive resident consultation period and the residents were consulted at every stage as the works progressed.

The refurbishments include replacing old and failing ramps with a modern wrap around patio area, improved lighting and security. The garden area has had a makeover and there is now a pleasant seating area, complete with a picnic bench donated by Fusion 21 which seats eight people.

Cliff Stanley, Magenta Living’s Head of Capital Investment, says: “We are delighted with the work that has been carried out at Hoose Court which improves both the access and the environment for tenants.”

“Hoose Court lies behind our recently opened ‘The Redshanks’ and this refurbishment ensures it complements the newly built development.”

Chris Connolly of A Connolly Ltd says: “We are delighted to have been able to  deliver such an important accessible environment for the residents of Hoose Court. A Connolly Ltd have a long and proud history of working collaboratively with housing associations delivering high-quality projects and are naturally delighted that we’ve been part of this important scheme.”

Fusion21, a social enterprise that promotes public procurement as a means to save money and create social outcomes, brought together Magenta Living and A Connolly contractors through its Groundworks Framework. This has enabled high quality ground improvements to take place on Magenta properties as part of a four year partnership.

Steven Grant, Project Manager at Fusion21, says: “We are delighted to see this flagship programme progressing well and delivering social value which is benefiting the local residents and community. We hope they enjoy their improved environment.”
