Wirral South Social Isolation Fund – Deadline noon 8th September 2017

Do you want to help address social isolation in Wirral South?

Are you part of a Constituted Community Group, Faith Group, Charity or Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO)?

If the answer to both questions above is “yes” then you may be eligible for a grant of up to £2,000 to fund your project.

From Friday 21 July grants up to £2,000 are available for groups to fund projects aimed at tackling social isolation across Wirral South (Bebington, Bromborough, Clatterbridge, Eastham and Heswall council wards).

Grants will be awarded for both one off events and ongoing projects of up to 12 months.

Aims of the fund

Raise awareness

Raise awareness of both the existing opportunities available to those at risk of becoming isolated and the associated health risks of being socially isolated.

Increase action to support individuals

Social isolation and its links to lack of regular contact with others, means that those who will be most isolated will have little or no contact with services, therefore creative solutions are needed to identify those who would benefit most from initiatives.

Community action

Community action is particularly important in building and harnessing capacity within neighbourhoods to tackle social isolation.

Apply for funding

To apply download, complete and return the application form (following the instructions on the application form carefully)  by noon on Friday 8 September 2017.

All the criteria for application are contained within the application form.

Successful groups will have 12 months from the date of payment to complete their project and spend all awarded funds.
