From 22nd – 27th June, Wirral Schools’ Music Service are hosting a Come Play With A Band Week.
So if you play a musical instrument of at least grade 3 standard and are thinking it’s time to move up or to join a higher standard band/orchestra, then this is your opportunity to come along and try out the band of your choice!
During the week Wirral Schools’ Music Service will be opening the doors to all of their senior groups to new players, giving young musicians the opportunity to see how they like the band/orchestra and see if they are of the right standard. If successful, the new players will then be able to join the ensemble in September.
The ensembles rehearse on the following days:
- Wirral Schools’ Brass Band – Monday, 7 – 9pm
(Cornets/trumpets/tenor horns/euphoniums/trombones/tubas/percussion) - Wirral Schools’ Big Band – Tuesday, 7 – 9pm
(Saxophones/trumpets/trombones/keyboard/drums/guitar/bass) - Wirral Schools’ Orchestra – Friday, 7 – 9pm
(Strings/woodwind/brass/percussion) - Wirral Schools’ Concert Band – Saturday, 9.30am – noon
(Woodwind/Brass/Percussion)
In addition to these, young choristers are welcome to try out for the following:
- Sounds Central Young Voices – Thursday, 6 – 7.30pm
(Male and female voices)
All rehearsals take place at the Joseph Paxton Campus, Park Road North, Claughton, CH41 0EZ.
