Wirral Libraries set to launch an order and collect service

Residents and library members will be able to order up to eight books from Wirral Libraries and collect them from Birkenhead Central or West Kirby as they reopen on Thursday 13th August.

Library sites were closed in March due to coronavirus, but the service will offer a reduced and alternative service as they reopen on in August, starting with two sites.

The order and collect service will enable library members to borrow up to eight paperback, hardback and/or talking books.

Residents can either select to have a lucky dip of books, personally chosen by the library staff or to input the type of genre and author of books they would like to read.

Once ordered, a reference number will be received, and a member of staff will contact you to confirm a specific timeslot for the day and time selected as your preference on submission of the order.

When you collect your items from the library, separate entrances and exits will be marked, with a one-way system around the building and no public toilet facilities will be available.

Residents are asked to adhere to the safety measures in place to help protect themselves, staff, and other visitors to the library. You must bring your own bag with you.

Residents should note that Birkenhead and West Kirby Libraries will only be offering an order and collect Service at this time. No other library services will be available at these sites, but e-books and e-audio can still be accessed online.
