This year’s Volunteers Week is jam-packed with events, so here is our schedule for the week:
1st June: Thank You to Volunteers.
An email to all volunteers thanking them. To nominate your volunteers please complete our survey.
We are also going to be putting the spotlight on volunteering organisations through the week.
2nd June: A New Volunteer System.
We have recently transferred to a new volunteer system, which allows volunteer managers not only to recruit volunteers, but is also a volunteer management system for smaller organisations. For larger organisations we have a quick opportunity option, which directs potential volunteers to their own opportunities.
The team are hosting drop in sessions for any volunteer coordinators to assist them to understand the new system, tailor volunteer roles, and meet the team.

My name is Zel Rodgers, and I have worked for Community Action Wirral for 17 years, most recently in the role of Operations and Development Manager. I can spend a day with you on any project you are running, and help with elements like, action planning, strategies, policies or trustee development.
My name is Amy, and I have been an apprentice with Wirral Chamber of Commerce for over two years now as their Developments Officer. I can effectively use the Outlook calendar and assist in hosting meetings, taking the agenda and minutes. I recently trained one of our Kickstarters to use our databases, both old and new. I can show you how to use it too, if you missed our Tuesday session.
Hi, I’m Sophie, the Communications Assistant at Community Action Wirral. My job is to update the website and our social media handles. This means I get the fun job of scouring through social media retweeting interesting events our followers have going on or to push our own events. I can help you learn to use the programmes I use to boost your own business’ profile online.
My name is Ailish Kelly, and I am an Admin Assistant at Community Action Wirral. I have spent the last month updating the volunteer management system, so I can spend a day providing assistance and advice with use of similar CRMs. As well as this, I have been starting to analyse data in terms of the improvement of the online presence of non-profit groups, so I can suggest ways in which you can increase your reach through social media and branding.
I’ve dabbled in a variety and PC and tech related subjects in my hobbies. Starting off nice and basic with all kinds of Office software, I’m an advanced user and can produce all kinds of interactive documents/presentations/spreadsheets, even made a few “games” in them during my time. I’m most experienced in spreadsheet software, extending to data engineering, manipulation, analysis, visualization etc and is what I’ve been spending most of my time here at CAW. I’ve done a bit of programming, mostly coding and script writing, I know a couple of languages to enable me to get the most out of my software. And then finally, I’ve done a bit of graphics and design, although more technical than artistic just to present my above skills in a nice manner. Elsewhere, if you so happen to need a science guy, my background is in chemistry, and if you manage to find a use of that, I can be your guy there too.
