For a year or so now, our core team of 4-5 volunteers have kept things going at the Merseyside People’s Assembly. We have done some campaigning and worked hard with other organisations to make sure people can get to big demonstrations across the UK. However we always wanted to do more by having a bigger team. At present our core volunteers circumstances have changed and they are more busy than ever with their other work roles and personal circumstances, which makes keeping things going increasingly difficult with our work for the Save Liverpool Women’s Hospital campaign, our work with the homeless and to support our local NHS. What we need is a new wave of people willing to run with the baton and do their part.
Would you be able to volunteer just an hour or more per week to keep Merseyside fighting the good fight? We need a few people to help out with some blogs, newsletters, organising meetings, administering social media and the website, designing leaflets, organising printing, leaflet distributors, as well as basic meeting minute taking for steering committee meetings. If you can do any of these things, or are even just curious and want to come and find out more, we would love to hear from you.
