For this event, we are very pleased to introduce John Highton from Wirral Council who has been a key part of the Wirral Intelligence Service for many years. John will walk us around the Wirral Intelligence website, and explain many of the areas of work.

We will also demonstrate how you can use the information from the service to inform your work, in particular how you can use the website to inform the evidence of need in your grant applications.

He will also be able to discuss how organisations who are collecting valuable information about need on Wirral can share that with the Wirral Intelligence Service.

Date: 22nd May 2019

Time: 10am to 12:30pm

Speaker: John Highton – Wirral Intelligence Service and Zel Rodgers – Community Action Wirral

Venue: Westbourne Community Centre

Wirral Intelligence Service website was established in 2017 to bring together in one place high-quality research, information, and intelligence about Wirral; the place and the people that live here. Information is available on a wide range of themes including population and people, health, the economy, poverty and inequalities and crime and community safety. The information also provides local, regional and national context.

A key set of intelligence in this website is a collection of needs analysis focused on the current and future health and wellbeing of the Wirral population; this information is known as the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA). It is used to help determine what actions local authorities, the NHS and other partners need to take to meet health and social care needs and to address the wider determinants that impact on health and wellbeing.
