United Utilities Trust Fund

Registered charities, voluntary organisations, and not-for-profit organisations that are able to deliver services within the United Utilities Trust Fund geographic area of North West England can apply now for one of four grants being made available in 2020.

The grants of up to £32,500 each are being made available for a one-year term and can cover all costs associated with project delivery.

To be eligible, projects must:

  • Involve working with partners to share a funded resource to provide peripatetic money advice services across the communities or groups they serve.
  • Enhance and develop the provision of money advice services to individuals within the United Utilities Trust Fund geographical area.
  • Demonstrate that it will provide a benefit to customers of United Utilities who are in hardship and unable to meet the costs of water charges.
  • Support a ‘deprived community’ where a significant majority of the residents live in the worst 10% Lower Super Output Areas or Wards in England and/or where there is a high incidence of debt.

There is a two-stage application process.

The deadline for stage one applications is 26 March 2020.
