Stick ‘n’ Step is a charity that enables, inspires, and supports children with cerebral palsy and their families. They support these young people up to the age of 25 through the provision of free weekly conductive education (CE) sessions.
The sessions are delivered by highly skilled professionals from specialist centres in Wallasey and Runcorn and are designed to help each child reach their personal potential in terms of mobility, confidence, and independence.
Rob Shorthouse has been the Chair of Trustees of Stick ‘n’ Step since 2018. Rob was brilliant support to the organisation, even before he became a Trustee.
He has raised thousands of pounds by engaging his workplace in fundraising and taking part in big cycling events and golf days.
As the Chair of Trustees, Rob leads the board to make sound decisions that enable the organisation to thrive. During his time as a trustee, Stick ‘n’ Step has doubled the number of families it supports and has continued to adapt its service delivery to support families throughout lockdown.
Rob provides proactive and dynamic leadership to the Board and the Senior Management Team and his commitment means a great deal to the whole staff team and the organisation.
