Tour Of Merseyside Out Of Starting Blocks!

The annual BTR Tour Of Merseyside got underway yesterday with 300 runners taking part in the 52 mile challenge that ends with the Wirral Coastal Run.

The unique event will see the participants – known as Tourists – race in 6 events over 7 days at various locations across Merseyside.

The tour is growing increasingly popular year on year, with competition fierce to make the final list of 300 competitors. This year’s tour sold out in just 2 weeks!

The event aims to raise funds for BTR Footsteps Fundraisers’ official charities: Radio City’s Cash For Kids, Claire House Children’s Hospice, Everton in the Community, Jospice, and the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

The remaining races of the tour are:

  • Monday 6th July – Thurstaston Multi-Terrain, 6 miles (7pm start)
  • Tuesday 7th July – Sustrans Cycle Trail, 10 miles (7pm start)
  • Thursday 9th July – Halton, 5 miles (7pm start)
  • Friday 10th July – Knowsley Cross Country, 6 miles (7pm start)
  • Saturday 11 July – Wirral Coastal Run, 12 miles (10am start)
