Social Tech Seed offers entrepreneurial organisations early-stage investment to develop innovative projects using digital technology to create significant social change, from environment and sustainability to education and employment. This programme will provide funding of up to £50k and support to help you demonstrate the social, user and financial value of your existing digital prototype. Comic Relief aims to empower local people enabling them to create lasting change in their communities. Projects should be run by people directly affected by the issues they are dealing with and priority will be given to small, locally based groups or organisations in areas of disadvantage that have a clear understanding of the needs of their community. Grants of £1000- £5000 are available to support community organisations running projects working towards the following outcomes: increase local services, build skills of local people, increase community cohesion, respond to local economic needs. A Local Communities grant must be at least 30% of the total overall project cost. For the 1st round of funding, 50% of the budget will be awarded for sport projects that increase access to sport and exercise for people who face social isolation and exclusion. We are open for applications. Due to the popularity of the fund please note we may close for applications at any time- there is no closing date. The first grants panel will be held in November, therefore we recommend applications are submitted by early October. We are pleased to be launching the Liverpool ONE Foundation fund again – this should be available online from 1st October. Both Programmes 1 and 2 are open and the funds priorities are projects for children and young people, education and employability. The decision-making panel will be held mid December and we do not have a closing date for applications due to the popularity of the fund and the budget available. We will monitor the numbers of applications coming in and may need to close the fund when we have sufficient numbers but will contact you to let you know and publicise this via our website and social media. B&Q operates a waste donation scheme through all stores. We donate unsaleable products and waste materials for re-use by recognised community groups, eg schools, charities, The Scout Association. We can donate items such as slightly damaged tins of paint, off-cuts of timber, broken tiles for mosaic projects. These items are donated on the understanding that they will be re-used. We have just launched our Community Impact Fund which has £100k available for 15/16, to support the and we will run another round in 2016/17. We will also be using some of the £300k for a small number of more strategic commissioned projects in 2016. Our Community Impact Fund helps voluntary sector organisations and registered charities do even more to build stronger communities across Liverpool and Merseyside. Eligible organisations can apply for grants of up to £3,000 for projects that meet one of our three priority areas: Health, Income Stability and Education. Applications will be assessed on the impact that the project will have on the lives of those who benefit. We’re looking for projects that help make a change for those most in need. BBC Children in Need Main Grants programme is open to charities and not-for-profit organisations applying for grants over £10,000 per year for up to three years. If you are looking for any amount up to £10,000 for one year, see Small Grants. We give grants for… Children and young people of 18 years and under experiencing disadvantage through: Illness, distress, abuse or neglect, Any kind of disability, Behavioural or psychological difficulties, Living in poverty or situations of deprivation, Projects we fund make differences in children’s lives that help prevent or overcome the effects of the disadvantages they face. Projects achieve these differences by either working directly with children or seeking to improve their social and physical environments. We work in partnership with leading charity UK Youth to provide support and funding to help under-25 year olds not in employment or education to bring their social action project to life. Empty Properties Funding Programme 2015 The Nationwide Foundation has launched a new empty properties funding programme to bring long-term empty properties back into use for people in housing need. Despite the current housing crisis, the UK has in excess of 200,000 long-term empty homes and many more commercial properties which could be used as homes. The Nationwide Foundation will fund work which turns empty properties into safe, decent homes for people in need and makes them available at a rate they can afford.The £1 million funding programme will be open to applications from the 14th September 2015 to the 1st November 2015. Grow Wild is awarding funding of £1,000 to £4,000 to community groups that want to bring people together to transform a communal space by sowing and growing UK native plants. Apply now to be part of our 2016 community projects. The closing date for applications is 1 December 2015. Successful projects will be awarded funding in March 2016. We are looking to fund at least 60 groups across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The English Indices of Deprivation 2015 have just been published. This provides information that you can use to understand and demonstrate local need. It can help you in funding bids and also can help you when supporting local groups. There is a guidance note that explains how the index of multiple deprivation can be used, and expands on the headline points in the infographic. It will also help you to navigate the various data files and documents available. Supporting documents include a Statistical Release of the main findings, a guidance note, infographic and frequently asked questions, with more detailed research and technical reports.
