The Rotary Club of North Wirral is making a number of Community Group Grants available to local community groups and charities. Grants will be up to £250 per organisation and be available to organisations operating in Wirral with a gross income of less than £15,000 p.a. The Tesco Charity Trust has now open. Applications will be accepted from charities and not-for-profit organizations supporting projects aimed at health, opportunities for young people, or environmental sustainability. The European Stuctural and Investment Fund has issued a call for proposals to run projects backed by them. The ESIF includes money from the European Social Fund (ESF), European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). The deadline for applications is 22nd May. Our Funding Development Officer, Zel Rodgers, attended an information meeting at the Radisson and reports that at least 4 calls are relevant to the Liverpool City Region (including Wirral). Bids are now being accepted for the Homes and Communities Agency’s Homelessness Change and Platform for Life Funds. Up to a total of £25 million capital funding is available for the development of tailored hostel accommodation for rough sleepers; and shared accommodation for young people, who are homeless or insecurely housed, to enable them to take on or continue employment, education or training outside of London. Discussions have begun with regard to the Building Better Opportunities funding from the Big Lottery opt in. Subject to approval from the European Commission later this year, the Big Lottery Fund will put up to £220m of Lottery funds against a similar figure from the European Social Fund (ESF) 2014-2020 in order to support communities and people most in need across England.
