Healthy Wirral are looking to find out what wonderful things are taking place within local communities and feel that the Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector are the best people to ask! Early next year the Healthy Wirral Asset Mapping Grant Fund will open to applications from groups to conduct asset maps for the community in which they work. Up to £3000 will be available per ward and groups are encouraged to work in partnership. This fund will also be accepting applications from individuals.
The fund will open for applications on Tuesday 12th January after two introductory workshops on Monday 11th January.
Postcode Community Trust – 2016 Grants Postcode Community Trust seeks to empower groups of people by providing them with the skills they need to effect change in their own communities. Some groups may feel they cannot participate fully in activities within their community because of isolation, disability or age. The fund aims to help them overcome these barriers in creative and sustainable communities by improving social cohesion, economic infrastructure and provide or improve community-based facilities. All applicants must read the Guidance Notes before applying – which give much more detailed information on eligibility:
Registered charities* in England, Scotland & Wales can apply from £500 – £20,000 (£10,000 in Wales) for projects meeting the above remit, whilst other organisations may apply for up to £2,000. The form will be open at the following times in 2016: Tue 5th Jan – Fri 28th Jan 2016
Sun 1st May – Tue 31st May 2016. Applicants will then hear back within 10 weeks of the closing date on the outcome of their application.
Community Resource Grants – We are seeking applications from not-for-profit organisations across the city of Liverpool to deliver projects around the below listed themes:- Community Legal Advice, Domestic Violence, Capacity Building and Stronger Communities
We recognise the important contribution that the sector provides in creating a vibrant communities and supporting vulnerable adults. It is intended that the new grant programme will encourage joint working and collaboration. The demand for this funding is expected to be high and not all projects will be successful. Closing date: 18th January 2016 at 12 noon.

Providing Free Training to Small Charities At the FSI we believe that if knowledge is not shared its value diminishes, so we share our knowledge for free. Our training courses cover a wide range of subjects from event planning to leadership. However, we know that what you need most is to secure funding, so the majority of our training courses are focused on helping you to learn the skills to raise and earn income for your charity.
Our extensive training programme is at the core of our support for small charities – in 2016 we will provide over 2,500 free delegate places at Training Events in London and 12 other hubs in the UK. The two closest hubs to Wirral are Manchester (19th to 20th April 2016) and Preston (4th October 2016)
Two new requirements added to Code of Fundraising Practice with regard to font sizes for permission sizes and opting out.
London-based full-service video strategy, production and distribution agency RAW Productions is offering a prize of £10,000 worth of film production to one small UK charity. The competition is open to charities registered in the UK which have an annual turnover of less than £5 million. To enter simply email [email protected] explaining in no more than 500 words why your charity deserves to be seen and heard through film and how you would utilise the video once it has been produced. Applications must be received by 24 December 2015.
The Lonsdale Trust Wallasey is offering free accredited training for carers. Awarding Body: British Safety Council Course: Level 2 Health and Safety in Health and Social Care
Date: Monday, 11th January 2016 Duration: 9.30 am to 4.30 pm Training Fees: Free of Charge On completion of training each candidate will be given a written multiple choice examination paper. On successful completion, an accredited certificate will be awarded.
The fee for the examination and certificate is payable by each candidate, in advance, and costs £20.00 In order to enable carers to take up this offer the Trust will take care of the person you care for free of charge for the day whilst you attend the training.
