Liverpool ONE Foundations Programme 1 is still open. Application numbers are quite low and although we do not have a deadline we would encourage applicants to get their proposals into us within the next couple of weeks. The Liverpool ONE Foundations Programme 1 is now open and the decision-making panel will be held towards the end of September 2015. Due to the limited budget available and popularity of the fund please note we may have to close the fund for applications so there is no closing date but we will publicise this information via our website, twitter and facebook accounts. National Youth Social Action Fund Grants are available to charitable organisations working with young people in lower socio-economic areas in England for projects that help young people (aged 10-20 or up to 25 with disabilities) in more deprived or rural areas to get involved in social action. Grants of between £50,000 and £200,000 are available. It is expected that the majority of this funding will run for two financial years with all money spent by July 2017. The deadline for Expressions of Interest is 28 August 2015 (5pm). Charities, charitable incorporated organisations, community interest companies, and social enterprises can apply. Applicants should be working with young people in lower socio-economic areas in England. Projects should involve young people aged 10-20 years or up to 25 years for young people with disabilities. It is also interested in bids which wish to pilot, within existing programmes, innovative approaches to addressing issues of need, access or inclusivity, or which embrace cross-sector partnerships, such as with the health, education or social care sectors. The Programming Development Fund supports programming initiatives of cultural significance, high profile and wide reach, encouraging curatorial ambition, achieving economies of scale and bringing films to audiences across the UK in a fresh and original way. This fund is primarily intended to operate in tandem with the BFI Film Audience Network so applications which engage with the network members may stand a greater chance of success. Complementing the BFI’s Distribution Fund – which offers support for the release of films on a title by title basis – the Programming Development Fund is designed to help film programmers and exhibitors put together programmes of films which will be enhanced or underpinned by curation, interpretation or education activity. Joseph Rowntree Funding – Poverty and Ethnicity: Support Partner for Practical Demonstration Projects. This call is for proposals to become JRF’s partner, supporting practical projects commissioned in the third phase of its Poverty and Ethnicity programme. The third phase of the programme will consist of practical projects building on the evidence gathered across JRF’s poverty and ethnicity programme to date and the chosen partner will be responsible for: Assisting JRF in selecting the projects to be funded.
Supporting and advising all the project teams once they are appointed.
Monitoring the projects and informing JRF as to their progress.
Creating links between project teams so that they can support and learn from one another.
Gathering learning from across the projects and disseminating it both to JRF and to the projects themselves (this should be done throughout the life of the projects as well as at the end of the work). Proposals from BME led organisations are particularly welcomed, although this is not a requirement. Organisations must however be able to demonstrate that their ethos is inclusive and supports race equality. The selected partner will be required to write a report outlining the projects undertaken at the end of the phase. This report should link projects to the existing evidence base (both from within and outside JRF’s programme) and draw out messages for policy-makers, practitioners and funders. Project Timescale: Starting late 2015 for a maximum of two years (depending on the nature of the practical projects commissioned).

BBC Children in Need Small Grants programme is open to charities and not-for-profit organisations applying for any amount up to and including £10,000 for one year only. Children and young people of 18 years and under experiencing disadvantage through: Illness, distress, abuse or neglect; Any kind of disability; Behavioural or psychological difficulties; Living in poverty or situations of deprivation. We fund organisations working to combat this disadvantage and to make a real difference to children and young people’s lives. In our Small Grants programme we are looking for projects where a relatively small amount of money can make a big difference for children and young people. We are unlikely to fund applications which top up funding for salaries or larger projects where a small grant would only make a marginal impact on its success. Not-for-profit organisations that work with disadvantaged children and young people of 18 years and under who live in the UK, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.Use our online application system to complete an application form and submit additional information.

‘Event Planning’ workshop by Natalie Weston, Senior Events Manager at the Marriott Hotel on the 3rd September 2015 in Liverpool. This is a morning workshop commencing at 10:30 am and finishing at 12:30 pm and finish with a light lunch.
‘Small Fundraisers’ was set up by fundraisers on Wirral to create a peer network, where they could access support, advice and good ideas to improve their fundraising practise from each other. Our next meeting will be held on the 10th September 2015 at the Barnstondale Centre and we have invited Jane Harris – Administrator from the Morgan Foundation to share her thoughts on which projects they are looking for and top tips on how to approach this fund.
Raffles are a great way to raise income for your charity or cause, and thousands upon thousands of organisation already run raffles, making millions for good causes in the UK every year. In fact 21 per cent of all UK donors bought raffle tickets in 2014.

The GSK IMPACT Awards have been running since 1997 and are designed to recognise and reward charities that are doing excellent work to improve people’s health. They are funded by GlaxoSmithKline and managed in partnership with The King’s Fund. The awards are open to registered charities that are at least three years old, working in a health-related field in the UK, with a total annual income between £25,000 and £2 million. See website.
