Tilney Bestinvest and the Community Foundation for Merseyside are offering a small grants fund between £1000 and £5000 for local voluntary or community groups based in Merseyside. DONG Energy have committed to a Community Fund worth approximately £235,000 for areas affected by the Burbo Bank Extension off shore wind farm. The Fund will be launched in May with a deadline date in September. Our Funding Development Officer, Zel Rodgers, attended their open session at Hoylake Community Centre and discovered some valuable information: The area of benefit extends to 5 km from the coast. The company seem to be looking to fund community, environmental, events, revenue and capital funding and are hoping to have a 4 month turnaround. You will be able to apply for different streams, which will include Small Grants £500 – £5000 and Medium Grants £5000 – £25 000. With regards to the Large Grants, they will be expecting some match, but will except match of in kind support. The designated Grant Manager will be Liz Payne. The Department for Communities and Local Government is welcoming applications to its Women’s Empowerment Fund for local community engagement projects that empower women. Voluntary and community groups whose primary objective is to work with women in the community are invited to apply. A maximum of £20,000 per project is available. The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has announced details of The Coastal Revival Fund – Heritage Restoration: Economic Regeneration. The Fund will focus on heritage projects, with the help of local teams, in order to boost economic regeneration and employment prospects in seaside locations. Communities will be assisted to exploit the potential of buildings, facilities and amusements. DCLG has also announced that coastal resorts are to benefit from more than 100 new Coastal Community Teams.
