The Childcare Investment Readiness Fund is a £500,000 pilot fund, managed by the SIB Group on behalf of Department for Education. The fund will offer grants of between £25,000 and £50,000 to purchase specialised investment readiness support to cover the costs of putting an investment readiness plan into action. The Aviva Community Fund will finance over 362 entries across 4 different fund levels and 4 categories, to communities throughout the UK. Projects will be subjected to a public vote and those with the most votes will be in with a chance of securing up to £25,000 in funding. The 4 categories in which a project can be entered are: Health, disability and wellbeing; Supporting the younger generation; Supporting the older generation; Community support. The Community Ownership and Management of Assets programme (COMA) supports partnerships between local public bodies and community groups to develop multiple asset transfer or single, ground breaking asset projects. The COMA programme offers £1.5m for up to 50 partnerships in Direct Support and up to £10,000 per organisation in Pre-Feasibility Grants. The programme is intended to help local public bodies and their communities use their assets in a strategic way, focusing on better outcomes for the community. It is open for applications now. The Community Economic Development (CED) programme provides specialist support, advice and grant funding to help residents, local business and public sector organisations to work together strengthening the local economy. The programme will provide 50 communities with an experienced adviser who will act as the main point of contact and will guide them throughout the process of developing a well-supported, dynamic and deliverable local economic plan. A grant of £5,000 will also be available to support the development of the plan. At least 100 neighbourhoods will be able to access a grant of £8,000 to help complete an operational plan that details how a local service will be transformed. The DM Thomas Foundation for Young People are inviting registered charities in the UK and the Republic of Ireland to apply for a Central Grant, funding projects that help disadvantaged children and young people in one of the following 4 areas: Those with disabilities; Those who are sick in hospital; Those who are homeless or in care; Those who are requiring palliative care. The Chesshire Lehmann Fund aims to support academics and community groups wishing to undertake active research or evaluation into the relationship between fuel poverty and energy efficiency. The fund has 2 funding streams: applicants can apply for up to £5,000 from the Research stream; Community groups and not-for-profit organisations can apply for up to £3,500 (or up to £5,000 if in conjunction with an academic institution) from the Community Action stream. The BBC Children In Need Main Grants programme supports charities and not-for-profit organisations working to combat those of 18 years and under experiencing disadvantage through: Illness, distress, abuse or neglect; Any kind of disability; Behavioural or psychological difficulties; Living in poverty or situations of deprivation. The Main Grants Programme is for grants over £10,000 to support projects for up to three years. There is no upper limit for Main Grants but very few grants over £120,000 will be issued. The Kelly Family Charitable Trust is interested in funding charities that work to reinforce the potential benefit and support that family members as a unit can give to each other. The three areas that the Trust wishes to support are: Interventions and support that help families to manage better and prevent the fracture of the family unit; Families where sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence, alcohol abuse and drugs abuse threaten the integrity of the family unit; Prisoners and in particular their families, during and after the period of imprisonment. The Field Studies Council’s Kids Fund will pay for up to 80% of the course fee for groups of disadvantaged young people to attend a non-curriculum day or residential course at an FSC Learning Location. The Department of Health has announced that the Health and Social Care Volunteering Fund (HSCVF) is now open for applications for both the National and Local schemes for projects starting in September 2015 or later. The HSCVF supports voluntary sector organisations to test out new ways of working with their volunteers in the delivery of health and care services. It also provides funded organisations with a package of capacity building support to help them become more sustainable. All the projects are funded under themes that are strategically aligned and their outcomes support the Department of Health in ensuring coherent investment and reinforcement of the role of volunteering in health, public health and social care. Not for profit organisations or partnerships of not for profit organisations can apply for up to £200,000 per annum for a maximum of 3 years under the national scheme and up to £50,000 over 3 years through the local scheme.
