The Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) has launched the new £7 million Heritage Impact Fund as well as a new business support service to applicants to support social impact projects using historic buildings.
AHF is making tailored finance available for charities, social enterprises and community businesses in the UK to support the acquisition, reuse or redevelopment of buildings that are of historic or architectural importance and that will provide social and economic benefits to the local community. The funding could be used for those undertaking a capital project or looking to build upon or scale-up an existing enterprise.
These buildings may be listed, in a conservation area, or may be of special significance to the community. The fund is offering loans from £25,000 to £500,000 for up to three years with tailored terms and both flexible and incentivised interest rates for impactful projects. These could include both capital and interest repayment holidays.
