Supporting Families Enhancing Futures (SFEF) is a new model for working with families. The model will improve how we, as practitioners and volunteers engage with families and work with them to assess and respond to their needs. The Children and Young Peoples Department say that this is a model that they recommend for you to consider when developing plans for supporting children, young people and their families through the Third Sector programme.
The model is centred on responding to and improving the daily lives of children.

recognise family strengths, as well as concerns,
engage families in the change process
measure change through actions and interventions
What do you need to do next
1. Commit to the SFEF model and approach to working inclusively with children, young people and families.
2. Start incorporating the principles and guidance into your everyday practice
3. Attend the multi-agency SFEF training being provided by WSCB
4. Be flexible as we learn together whilst the new model is refined and embedded
5. Consider nominating yourself as a SFEF Champion, and supporting colleagues within your agency to adopt it.
