Amparo deliver effective, timely support for anyone affected by suicide in Merseyside and are offering short zoom sessions during October.
These sessions will provide a chance to find out how Amparo works ‘on the ground’, and learn about the kind of support the Suicide Liaison Workers can offer to those who have been affected by suicide.
The informal sessions (around 30 minutes) will take place on the following dates, so please email paul.etheringtom@listening-ear.co.uk to confirm which date you would like to attend and he will provide you with the Zoom log-in details:
Wednesday 7th Oct @ 2pm
Monday 12th Oct @ 9.30am
Tuesday 20th Oct @ 4pm
Friday 30th Oct @ 2pm
Amparo offers a free, easy-to-access service backed up by a non-geographic telephone number and/or simple online referral form. Referrals can be made by anyone – we work with, and encourage referrals from, emergency support services, coroners, the NHS or other local support agencies, as well as self-referrals – and these are triaged with the aim of making contact within 24 hours of receipt.
Locally-based Suicide Liaison Workers work with beneficiaries, helping them with practical issues arising from suicide and ensuring they are linked into local support networks. Support is offered for as long as it’s required, up to and beyond an inquest.
