Ray Messer Foundation (Community Foundation for Merseyside)

The Foundation aims to support children and young people aged 11-25 and can consider community projects that focus on one or more of the following three areas:

–       Health and wellbeing

–       Entrepreneurship

–       Employability skills

Grants of up to £750 are available.

Registered charities, community groups with a constitution or set of rules in the group’s name, social enterprises can apply.

Which areas are covered: Wirral

Any special criteria: As this fund is focusing on supporting smaller grassroots organisations, applicants must have an annual income of under £150K to be considered for this fund

Examples of the sorts of projects that may be funded:

–       Sports, dance and fitness projects

–       Mental health awareness, advice and information

–       Support groups and help-line/counselling services for  children or young people with mental health issues

–       Healthy eating and cooking courses

–       Projects that introduce young people to enterprise

–       Training and skill development for young people

–       Mentoring schemes to improve young people’s employability
