This Sunday sees the Wirral Race For Life take place at Birkenhead Park in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life are a series of sponsored runs raising money for research into 200 types of cancer – every single penny raised goes directly to Cancer Research UK!
There are a choice of two events at Birkenhead Park: a 5k race and, for the more adventurous, a 10k race. Both races start at 11am.
For the uninitiated, 5k is just over three miles and so should be an achievable distance for all ages and abilities. Whereas, at twice the distance, 10k is an achievable challenge for anyone with a bit of training.
Whichever distance you choose, the Race for Life events are not competitive, so you can go at your own pace and run, jog or walk your way around the course.
If you don’t fancy actually taking part, you can follow the campaign on Facebook and Twitter, volunteer to support an event, sponsor a friend or visit the online shop.
