Sefton CVS and Merseyside Offender Mentoring Project are to appoint two part time Project Workers to a new Mentoring Project currently being established in HMP Risley. The positions are 21 hours per week and consist of Post 1, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday; Post 2, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and are offered on a Fixed Term Contract for 12 months.
The Project Workers will be based in HMP Risley and will provide mentoring support to serving prisoners coming up for release and ex- offenders in the community.
These varied and exciting roles will see the post holders undertaking face to face assessments with prospective mentees in prison, sourcing suitable volunteer mentors and overseeing and supporting the matching process. This post will see the job holders attending meetings with statutory partners and supporting the Senior Project Officer in the recruitment and training of volunteer mentors.
Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of the barriers faced by ex-offenders of all ages when resettling into the community, possess excellent planning and organisational skills and have either experience of volunteering or working with volunteers.
