National Apprenticeship Week – Meet Our Apprentice!

0

As this week is National Apprenticeship Week, we want to introduce you all to our wonderful apprentice, Amy Hammon. Amy has written a small piece about her experience as an apprentice within the Community Action Wirral team…

Hi, I’m Amy Hammon and I’m an apprentice within the CAW Team. I started working with CAW in late September after having a lot of experience throughout other departments within my workplace, including the Membership/Admin team, Social Media/Marketing team and the International Trade team.

“Working as an Apprentice with CAW has been amazing for me, as it has helped boost my confidence when speaking with the community, as I never used to be that good at all when it came down to communication. It has also boosted my confidence in general by making me realise who I am, what I enjoy the most, and what I will continue to get involved with in the future.

“The things I enjoy the most about working with CAW is that I learn new things all the time, especially as I do a lot of training with my line manager, who has been a big help throughout my journey.

I also really enjoy helping the volunteers that come through on our database to find an opportunity that is most suited for them and makes them happy. I have always enjoyed learning new things about all of our volunteers such as their interests and all of their different stories they tell. Each and every volunteer is different in their own way and I love being able to experience meeting more.

Although it can be difficult sometimes, I also really enjoy the task of multi-tasking between my college work and my work with CAW. I have always had great support from everyone within the CAW Team, which has helped me along the way.

We would like to thank Amy for all she has done for the CAW team since joining us, it has been great to see her confidence grow every single day and we know she has a very bright future ahead of her, beyond her apprenticeship.
