Liverpool City Region is a prosperous place for culture and creativity, that deserves to be celebrated.
That’s why the LCR Combined Authority will be announcing the winners of the Liverpool City Region Culture and Creativity Awards on 19th February 2021 as part of an exciting online event.
As part of the Metro Mayor’s Percent for Culture initiative, the awards were created to recognise the value and power for change that the arts, cultural, and creative sector can bring in reinforcing the City Region as one of the most vibrant and exciting places to live, work, study, visit or do business.
As we are all aware, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on the cultural/creative sector and is still proving to be challenging. Nonetheless, despite the difficulty facing many organisations, communities and individuals, the sector has responded positively, finding new and innovative ways to produce and create work.
It is as a result of this that the LCR Combined Authority want to acknowledge the value and importance of arts, culture, and creativity and what it can do even in the most trying of times.
There will be two new categories introduced this year, to recognise the special contribution:
- Covid-19 Creative Response (organisation)
- Covid-19 Creative Response (individual)
Who can be nominated?
Nominees must live, study and/or work in the Liverpool City Region (e.g Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral) or have created work/projects that significantly benefit the residents or visitors to the LCR and/or has positively contributed to the development of the economy of the LCR.
The 2020 awards will recognise arts and cultural events, innovative and creative activity that has taken place within the LCR during the period of 1st April 2019 to 12th November 2020.
