JOB: Senior SEND IASS Casework Officer

Salary: £27,500 per annum (plus benefit)

Contract type – Permanent (Subject to Continued Funding)

Liverpool & Knowsley SEND IASS is looking for a self-motivated and efficient senior caseworker with a proven track record of managing a complex caseload and working with families of children/young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

This is an opportunity to join an experienced and dedicated team. You will provide legally based, confidential and impartial, information, advice and support to empower children and young people with SEND and their parents/carers to have more choice, control and improved education, health care and outcomes.

You will contribute to the effective running of the SEND IAS service ad support the service to develop in-line with stakeholder feedback, and local and national priorities.

It is essential to have:

  • Experience of working with parents/carers of children and young people with SEND.
  • Experience of applying the Special Educational Needs and Disability agenda and relevant SEND legislation including the Children and Families Act (2014) and the Send Code of Practice (2015).
  • Experience of working with a wide range of partners and agencies is essential, as is demonstrable experience of supervising staff and/or volunteers and managing a high, complex caseload.

The successful candidate will require a high level of organisational & IT ability, and be able to plan, prioritise and manage their own time efficiently. It is essential applicants have a full, clean driving licence.
