Job Title: Manager Oakleaf Children’s Loss and Bereavement Service

Salary: £22,000
Oakleaf is a Children’s Counselling Service providing Bereavement and Loss Counselling for children ages 4 to 19 years of age who reside in Merseyside and the surrounding areas.
Currently we have a vacancy for an experienced manager to manage and develop our Children’s Counselling Service. The person to undertake this role will be an experienced Children’s Counsellor; Manager; and Clinical Supervisor. He/She will work as part of the Liverpool Bereavement Service Team based in Granite Buildings Stanley Street Liverpool.
This post will be to 25 hours (flexible working over 5 days) per week.
The successful applicant will:
- Provide an effective Loss and Grief service to the Children and Young people of Liverpool and the surrounding Merseyside areas
- Manage and co-ordinate paid and voluntary trained Counsellors providing therapy to Children and Young people within the context of family and school environment
- Have a direct Counselling case load, providing therapy to Children and Young people
- Provide support, and organise relevant training in relation to Loss and Grief for all Oakleaf Counsellors both paid and volunteer staff
- Organise group work for Children and Young people who have suffered a significant Loss or Bereavement
- Organise staff, volunteers and resources to meet the targets and outcomes of Oakleaf funders
- Produce and keep relevant records and statistics to monitor performance against targets and outcomes
- Work within the policies, procedures and standards of Liverpool Bereavement Service
You will have:
- A Diploma in Integrative Counselling/Psychotherapy – minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience
- A Diploma in Supervision
- Experience of working with Loss and Bereavement
- Have registered membership of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists. (MBACP)
- Evidence of having worked a minimum of 2 years with Children and Young People therapeutically in groups and on a 1:1 basis
- Proven evidence of experience Managing and organising staff
- Information Technology skills
- Hold a current UK driving license and be able to travel as part of the role
- Excellent communication skills
- Have a flexible approach to fulfilling the role within working hours
