Make It Happen Birkenhead are really excited to announce the start of a new project and anincredible job opportunity. This has been made possible by funding from Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority (MRWA)/Veolia.

TEXTILES AS TREASURE

We are looking for a dynamic, talented, self-motivated, creative person who understands asset-based-community-development.

The project aim is to prevent unnecessary waste of textiles and increase the life of the textiles we have. We recognise the value of upcycling and recycling textiles and we have seen what can be achieved by reusing textiles and giving them a new lease of life. We are looking for someone to help us create a vibrant community space, to educate on Textiles as Treasure and to teach practical skills, to help people to make memories and have fun.

About the position:

12 hours per week, flexible

12 months FTC

Living wage per hour paid

This project is supported by the Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority and Veolia Community Fund. Our project aims to make a real difference in communities around the Liverpool City Region by engaging residents, promoting economic growth and positively changing waste habits. The Community Fund has been established to reduce household waste, encourage using waste as a resource, to benefit local communities and to ensure value for money for council taxpayers.
