Are you a voluntary and/or community organisation (VCO)?
Do you require research or a work based learning (WBL) research project that will support the aims of your organisation?

If you have answered yes to any of the above then you SHOULD read on…
Interchange is a registered charity that connects Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with Voluntary and Community Organisations (VCOs) for the purpose of research and work-based learning research projects. This is The Interchange Experience (TIE).
Where is Interchange based?
We are based in one of our partner organisations, the University of Liverpool. Our students are mainly from the Department of Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology within the School of Law and Social Justice.
Which area do you work in?
We work mainly in the Greater Merseyside area with all charities and organisations / projects / groups that are not-for-profit and/or have charitable aims.
How will TIE benefit my organisation?
A WBL research project can provide assistance with a specific task planned by the VCO. Both a research project and WBL research project can provide evidence for VCOs to assist with areas to include:
-Business Planning; Annual Reports;
-Funding applications;
-Improving services;
-Becoming more sustainable.
When will the project start?
Students will start with their VCO in September 2016 and produce a final report in May 2017.
Is there a charge for this service?
We make no charge for our service – but we do ask VCOs to meet the basic travel expenses incurred by the student(s) and to pay for the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) if required.
Do VCOs get a copy of the Report?
The VCO will receive a copy of the report and it will count towards the student’s degree.
