If you’re interested in football activities, we want to hear from you!

The council has the chance to bid for funding to bring more grassroots footballing opportunities to Wirral, but we need your help to do it.

Our funding bid will focus on getting Birkenhead and Tranmere, Seacombe, Bidston and St. James, Rock Ferry and Liscard the facilities and activities the community wants – that’s residents, sports clubs, groups and local organisations together. And this is where you come in.

Whether it’s playing, coaching, refereeing, or just supporting that interests you, we want you to tell us how we could spend the money in those communities.

Similarly, if your organisation or group would be interested in helping us deliver any football activities, we want to hear from you so that we can work together to develop an exciting programme of activities, based on the feedback received in this consultation.  If you’re interested, please get in touch with the team by emailing Activethroughfootball@wirral.gov.uk.

We’ll be asking the National Lottery’s Active Through Football funding programme for up to £750,000 later in Spring for activities for young people ages 16 and over, and adults of all ages.

We think that showing what local people and local groups really want, and how they will get involved, will give us a really good chance at getting the money.

To tell us how you want us to deliver football in your area, you can fill out the survey by visiting the Have Your Say website https://haveyoursay.wirral.gov.uk.

Please can you kindly share this email and link with your contacts and community databases, including young people 16+ you work with.

For support filling out this survey, or to complete the survey in a different way, please contact the team by emailing Activethroughfootball@wirral.gov.uk.
