Have your say on Dog Control Orders

To encourage responsible dog ownership the Council is exploring the introduction of a Dog Control Public Space Protection Order (PSPO). A PSPO is an official measure that is the enforceable part of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. The introduction of a dog control PSPO would ensure that everyone visiting our open spaces can continue to enjoy them. The proposed PSPO has been brought together by looking at Wirral’s main dog related issues and drawing on best practice. The Council recognises that most dog owners help keep the borough beautiful for others.

The Council are now asking people what they think of the idea and they want to know what you think. You have until the 15th July 2018 to have your say. The easiest way for people to find out more and provide a response is by going online to www.wirral.gov.uk/pspo and the Council want as many people as possible to tell them what they think about the plans. Easy-read versions of the plan and the survey are available upon request at any of our libraries or One Stop Shops.
