At the start of October, Wirral MBC’s Childrens Department will be inviting potential providers to tender for the ‘Get Real Programme’. The programme will aim to support 12 young people who are either looked after, or who have left the care system, ranging from 16-20yrs, who are not currently engaged with education, employment or training. It will empower the young people to gain employment or re-engage with education or training, by supporting the development of their confidence, self-belief, wellbeing and skills.
Wirral MBC would like to commission an organisation to design and deliver a programme of activities and experiences that will engage and support the young people in a meaningful, impactful way, ensuring that at least 50% of the young people in the project progress in to Education, Employment or Training.
The value of the contract is £20,000 and it will be awarded for one year, with the option to extend for a further two years. The start date for the delivery of the programme is January 2020.
In order to support Wirral based VCSE organisations to take part in this contract opportunity, Capacity: The Public Services Lab are working in partnership with Wirral MBC’s Learning, Skills and Employment Service and Community Action Wirral to offer information, advice and support to Wirral VCSE organisations who are interested in supporting young people in this way.
