Free to Be is a local feature film and is already attracting incredible national and local support, with principle photography set to commence sometime in 2016. With this in mind, we would like to ask for your help and in return offer your organisation an opportunity.
We could give your clients/service users the opportunity to participate in something unique and creative (which in turn would improve their self-esteem, self confidence etc). They would be involved on a voluntary basis.
We would ask you to help us to raise awareness of the issues dealt within the film, by including it in any newsletters you may produce. This will raise awareness of your organisation that provide essential services to vulnerable people. Together we could look at getting free publicity for your organisations and ourselves, in press releases, in the film’s final credits, in the media
CLP Productions Ltd. is an active, newly established film production company with headquarters located in Wirral, UK since 2014. Its mission is to inform, entertain and produce original and thought-provoking projects that speak to a wide audience using the best of local talent.
Set against the turbulent backdrop of 1980s working-class Britain, the film documents Christopher Lee Power’s harrowing early life in the North West amidst a chaotic political climate. A compelling coming-of-age tale, Free to Be follows his metamorphosis from a child affected by murder, learning difficulties, self–harming, gambling, prison, hyperactivity and solvent abuse, to his overwhelming desire to overcome all and become an actor.
Directed by the award-winning theatre director Bev Clark, the film will be shot entirely on location in Merseyside, utilizing some classic iconography of the area, and a wide variety of local talent / expertise.
It is our intention that some of the profits made from the film shall go towards our charity, The Power Foundation for Young People (Reg. Charity No: 1163412), established to encourage those from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue a career within the performing arts.
This is a truly wonderful opportunity to advocate the best of the North West’s creative talent and a highly commercial feature film (complete with own soundtrack using both pre-existing songs and those composed especially for the film). Any support we receive will contribute towards our ultimate goal of raising awareness of the film’s troubling subject matter.
