Eaga Charitable Trust Funding – Deadline 28th July 2017

Eaga Charitable Trust provides financial support for work that contributes to understanding and addressing the causes and effects of fuel poverty. We aim to promote a sound evidence base to underpin decision-making in relation to the public’s health and wellbeing and combatting fuel poverty. We encourage effective action to ensure fair access to energy services and reduced health inequalities for all groups in society. Further details of the 2017 grant programme and grant priority areas can be found here.

Please note that Eaga Charitable Trust has very limited funding available for grants and it is currently spending down its endowment fund and receives no new income. Its grants are consistently oversubscribed and if the Trust is to continue to fund influential policy-related research and action projects, it will require on-going financial support.

Local projects

The Trust gives priority to funding proposals that have the potential to inform or influence national perceptions and policies and have a wide geographic focus. A project that operates at a local level will only be considered for a grant if it: clearly demonstrates innovation; identifies the policy relevance of the project; has wide applicability; and has well developed evaluation and dissemination plans.

Eaga Charitable Trust does not normally give grants for:

– The personal support of individuals in need;
– General fund-raising appeals;
– Capital works, including all types of physical energy efficiency measures;
– Retrospective funding for a project or event;
– Energy advice provision materials;
– The maintenance of websites;
– Local energy efficiency/warm homes initiatives. These include service delivery projects, including those providing energy efficiency advice and financial support for home insulation and energy efficiency work.

Range and type of grant

Grant requests should be for up to £2o,000. We strongly encourage applicants to seek co-funding of projects wherever possible. We expect the projects that we fund to be completed within 12 months of the project’s start date.

Organisations which can apply for a grant

All types of organisations and individual research consultants can apply for a grant from Eaga Charitable Trust. Applicants are encouraged to submit only one application from each organisation – it is highly unlikely that the Trust will fund more than one project from the same organisation.

The deadline for the submission of grant applications is Friday 28 July 2017 and grant decisions will be made in early September.  Applications which are submitted late will not be considered. Please note that applications should be submitted electronically, using the online application form which can be accessed using the link above. Hard copies of application forms will not be accepted.
