The Creative People and Places fund focuses on parts of the country where involvement in the arts is significantly below the national average. This may be due to lack of opportunities to attend and participate, or because of socio-economic factors, issues with physical accessibility or a limited offer of activities.
We believe that everyone has the right to experience and be inspired by art, so we want to transform the opportunities open to people in those places.
Applications must come from consortia that include representatives from both local grass-roots community groups and art/culture organisations, museums, libraries and other partners (such as local authorities and private-sector companies).
These collaborations allow local people to shape the art they want to see in their area. People involved in Creative People and Places projects are empowered to experiment with new and different approaches to develop inspiring, sustainable art programmes that will engage audiences in those communities.
