A play exploring exploitation of young people

Funded by Public Health and Merseyside Police, ‘On one condition …’ is the latest theatre production created by Last Minute Theatre Company (LMT), exploring exploitation of young people. LMT is part of Creative Youth Development’s Peer Education project providing issue based theatre packages by and for young people like the highly acclaimed ‘If You Loved Me You Would’. Creative Youth Support are part of Wirral Council’s Youth Support Service.
The production contains a number of scenarios which have been designed to raise young people’s awareness about what exploitation is, some of the types of grooming methods used and where to get help and support. These bite sized pieces of theatre have been created to be selected for individual groups of young people aged 13 plus. Each scenario is accompanied by an interactive question and answer section to aid learning. There is also the opportunity to have a follow up workshop with Catch22.
‘On one condition …’ has been designed for the GIRLS development project and for work with young people in care. However, it is suitable and available for other youth groups and schools. It can also be used as a training tool for professionals working with young people.
