Changes to the Code of Fundraising Practice.

The Fundraising Regulator has published changes to 6 key areas of the Code of Fundraising Practice after seeking the views of fundraisers and the public.

The Code changes include new requirements regarding:

  • Charity trustees
  • The fundraising ask
  • Solicitation (disclosure) statements
  • Raising concerns about fundraising practice (whistleblowing)
  • Charity Collection Bags
  • Fundraising Agreements and monitoring third party compliance

Charities have been given a grace period of between 2 and 4 months to implement some of the changes (see implementation timescale here), where significant adjustment will be required in training and compliance monitoring processes.

Alongside the Code changes, the Fundraising Regulator has published a summary of responses to its consultation and the results of research with members of the public across the UK. Questions on these changes can be sent to [email protected]
