Trinity Mirror Cheshire and ScottishPower Foundation have again joined forces to host Your Champions Awards 2016, this certainly will be the highlight of our year as we will be celebrating 29 years of paying tribute to those who make a real difference in our region.
This year’s awards evening – honouring individuals, volunteers, young people , sportsmen and women and groups from Cheshire, Wirral and North East Wales – will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Chester on Friday 11th November 2016. Our guest of honour at this glittering event will be Roger Black MBE, Olympic silver medallist and television presenter who I am sure, will give us his insight of this year’s Rio Olympics.
Since we introduced the awards, each year we have heard how individuals have dealt with adversity and raised thousands for local and national charities, local sporting heroes, and teams who have excelled. You may be aware of a recipient for the awards, and a poster (please click here for more information https://communityactionwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/English-poster-LO-REZ-2016.pdf) and nomination form is included (please click here for more information https://communityactionwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/English-nomination-form-2016.pdf ).
The 2015 Champion of Champions was the Pover family from Tarporley, who set up a university scholarship in memory of their son Richard who was only 21 when he lost his battle with testicular cancer in June 2013
I look forward to receiving nominations from your wide network so that we can give recognition to those worthy recipients from the region.
