Welcome to our brand new feature called ‘Can you help?’ The concept is really simple, the Wirral is vast and our community is knowledgeable and sometimes we all need a little extra help.
Within this feature, you can contact us if you need a bit of help, knowledge or expertise and we will put the request out in the newsletter here.
Our activity aims to encourage people to make choices that could reduce their risk of cancer and increase the chances of detecting it early.
We prioritise reaching members of the public who are less likely to seek and receive information through other channels.
CANCER AWARENESS PRESENTATION
Our cancer awareness presentation is a talk that lasts for around an hour, including time for questions and answers. It covers ways to reduce cancer risk, spotting cancer early and the NHS national cancer screening programmes.
CANCER AWARENESS HEALTH STAND
Our cancer awareness health stand is an opportunity for people to interact with our resources and have conversations with our nurses.
- Discuss how leading a healthy life can reduce cancer risk
- Learn about screening and where to get more information
- Talk about the importance of spotting cancer early by going to the GP with any concerns
- Find out about local and national services
- Have a free BMI or Smokerlyzer test
- Take home a wide range of useful leaflets
